Criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in Lower Willingdon.
We are aware of an increase in anti social behaviour around Jubilee Gardens and the Triangle.

We have seen smashed glass bottles and a bench pulled out of the ground and damaged.

ASB will not be tolerated, and we are working closely with agencies to identify those involved.

If you or anybody in the area witnesses this type of behaviour, please report it by phoning 101 (or 999 if a crime is in action) so we can respond accordingly.

It may look like something you’ve seen before but this small device is a SmartWater forensic marking spray, being used as part of a new pilot in East Sussex to help protect victims of domestic abuse and stalking.

The spray contains a unique forensic marker which, when deployed, can remain on clothing for an extended period. This can help link offenders to incidents through forensic analysis.

Once dry, the marker is invisible to the naked eye but can be detected using specialist equipment.

The spray is water-based and non-hazardous. It is being trialled to assess how it can support victim safety, deter offending and strengthen investigative opportunities.
